Ok, ok. I realize this isn’t a big deal to most, but when you haven’t had a sewing machine capable of sewing a zipper on something, it’s kind of a big deal.
I made my mom this rotary tool case as part of her Mother’s Day gift this weekend. I used some scraps of cotton laminate, a 4-inch zipper, and this foldover clutch tutorial from Say Yes to Hoboken as zipper motivation. There was definitely some seam ripping as I followed my machine’s instruction guide trying it for the first time, but, FINALLY, I got it! I still have a lot of practicing to do, but for my first try, I’m proud of myself.
To make the pouch, I cut two 4×10″ pieces of the cotton laminate. I added the zipper and then sewed the three sides of the bag. That was it! Just the right size for a 60 mm rotary tool.
And now I’ll take all zipper tips and tricks, please!
