I love Valentine’s Day – there! I said it! When I was in college I got sick of hearing my amazing friends and colleagues say how much they hated Valentine’s Day because they didn’t have a significant other, a crush, etc. PFT! You don’t need a boyfriend for Valentine’s Day. Feb. 14 is about telling someone you care about (a friend, a parent, a sibling, your cat) how much you love them. For crafters, it’s also about glitter, sequins, red paper, lace… you get the picture.
There were a few things I wanted to achieve with Valentine’s Day this year.
- As a still-newbie at work, I wanted my co-workers to love Valentine’s Day as much as I do
- For my friends and family, I wanted them to receive some Valentines in the mail to make their days
- For my new husband, I wanted to smother him with Valentine cards
How did I do? Tell me what you think.
For my the team at work, I created my Lishtreats bag and chocolates to go. The chocolates were in small glassine envelopes from Paper Source and wrapped in baker’s twine and washi tape. I let folks know if they needed a Valentine, I had one to give. A big hit, and a big surprise, from many folks today.
For my team, I presented them with wool felt coffee cup sleeves and cotton laminate fabric boxes packed with chocolates.
For Nick, I gathered an assortment of LEGO and handmade gifts. His collection of crazy Valentine’s Day cards was held in an oilcloth envelope that I made.
All in all, I think this year’s Valentine’s was spectacular. My co-workers were amazing, my friends were fantastic, my husband was a cutie – more than great.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
